HOUSE BOATS

by kristhekrishna @ 01/01/08 - 14:58:49

House boats are really flotting houses. It is big sized boats converted into houses which takes you to a different world.

It will be an exotic experience to enjoy each and every moment in a house boat.It will take you to the inner villages,an entirely different world.
In old times alleppey was a centre of trade and commerce of the travancore dynasty. It was called the venice of the east by the foreign peoples, because of its interconnecting canals, which was used for traveling and trading purposes.Alleppy was also a major port then.Time has changed everything. Alleppey is a major tourist attraction now.You can enjoy the nature's gift here, the beauty of punnamada lake chatting to green palm filled shores, big snake boats, exotic local dishes etc. take a visit and enjoy.

Who lives in them? Are they of the very poor? Are they summer houses? Are people living in them all year round. It sounds so interesting. Could you post some photos?

The one's in Ontario are for the most part much smaller than those in your header. They are loads of fun though.

I heard about people living in there. They say that it is cheaper than a normal house, but you have keep it in a good form so it will not overflow and the boat will not sink.
